Multiple Diaphragms in a Single Pump Head - API674 Pumps

Accurate Smooth Flow Metering and Dosing

Combining the output of 3 or 5 diaphragms operating in sequence in a single pump head results in a smooth discharge flow with Hydra-Cell® pumps. As a result, this significantly reduces pressure pulsations to such a level that in 99.9% of applications no discharge pulsation dampener is required, reducing the cost of installation and ensuring a more consistent performance initially, and over time.

Eliminating leaking discharge pipes due to pipe strain is also an advantage.

Compact Process Pump

Hydra-Cell®'s multiple diaphragms in a single pump head operate sequentially resulting in a very efficient compact seal-free, packing-free  pump design when compared with:

  • Multistage centrifugal pumps used for high pressure
  • Hydraulically balanced diaphragm process, metering and dosing pumps with a single diaphragm or plunger
  • Progressing cavity pumps

Low Acceleration Head Losses

Acceleration head losses on the suction side of the Hydra-Cell® pump are greatly reduced due to the multiple diaphragm pumping elements with short stroke lengths, when compared with:

  1. Hydraulically balanced plunger diaphragm pumps with one, two and even three separate pump heads
  2. Plunger pumps
